Emily Cooper Katzin, SPIN
nominated by Michelle Dwyer
I would like to nominate Emily Cooper Katzin, part of a wonderful teaching team in our Philadelphia Pre-K Classroom 134. Emily is exceptional individually but as part of a team they are amazing. They have really gone above and beyond for their students by planning fun and engaging activities that not only educate but also consider their student’s physical and emotional health. The way they communicate and interact with the children is a model for the kindness and compassion seen in the best early childhood educators. Emily and her teaching partner have managed an exemplary pre-k classroom while both successfully are continuing their own educations and balancing their own home lives as well! They are not only incredible teachers but amazing coworkers, and it is a pleasure to have them on our team especially during the trials of the past year. If any team demonstrates the hard work, dedication and commitment to serving others that characterizes Philly Love Essential Worker Award nominees, it is this PHL Pre-K team!

In June 2021, Philly Love put out the call to Philadelphia and the response was overwheling and beautiful... Over 30 amazing humans were honored and recognized by their communities for their love, hard work, and dedication. The resounding statements of "thank you for seeing me" were heard over and over again.
Your community sees you.
Your community loves you.
Your community honors you.
Continuing to recognize these wonderful people, we will be highlighting one of the thirty-six Philly Love Award Winners each week. - xo
